To truly understand and appreciate another culture, visiting it isn't enough. You need to live it.
And while all ACIS programs connect students with the cultures they are visiting, for a truly immersive experience, we recommend our homestay and language study experiences. All language immersion programs include daily cultural and language lessons delivered by a native-speaking Tour Manager.

Tour Summary
With a visit to a French school, dinner with a local family, a pétanque lesson and a night out at a French theater, this trip is sure to ignite an enthusiasm for French people and their culture. And to top it off, your native Tour Manager will be providing daily language instruction.

Language Immersion in Spain

Tour Summary
This nine-day tour takes you from Seville to Madrid with daily language lessons provided by your Tour Manager. Along the way, immerse yourself in the culture with flamenco lessons, fan painting, a service project, dinner with a family, an exchange with local students and more!

Sámara Beach Spanish Language Study
9 Days | Overnights: Sámara Beach (7)
Tour Summary
Spend eight days practicing your Spanish with four hours of daily language study Monday through Friday at the Sámara Beach language school campus in beautiful Costa Rica. Students will also enjoy living with a family and participating in such engaging and fun activities as cooking and surfing lessons, playing soccer with local students and a zip-line tour.

Río Grande Abajo Homestay and Service
8 Days | Overnights: Santo Domingo (2), Río Grande Abajo (3), Sosua (2)
Tour Summary
For three days of the trip, live with a local family in Río Grande Abajo and spend your days working on a community project coordinated by Brigada Verde. To ensure the greatest needs are met, the exact projects will vary. Students will also get to know local students with two evening youth group activities.

Cuzco Spanish Language Study

Tour Summary
This ten-day tour introduces students to Peruvian culture and immerses them in the language. It includes a five-day homestay where students will also participate in four hours of daily private tutoring at the language school.

Make any Program a Language Immersion Program!
Our Tour Managers are able to speak in as much of the local language as you like. When you travel as your own group (with as few as 13 participants on select tours), you can dictate exactly what you’d prefer. So, if your AP students want a no-English-allowed experience, let’s do it!
