Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use

ACIS® and its subsidiaries, ACIS America, Travel & Company® and Encore ToursSM, are committed to your privacy. While information is the cornerstone of our ability to provide superior service, your trust is most important to us. All of us at ACIS® are committed to keeping personal information secure and to using it only as you would want us to use it.

This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect or you provide when you visit our website or interact with our website or ACIS via email, text or other electronic means. If you are traveling on an ACIS tour to Europe or visiting our website from within Europe, please review our Privacy Policy Addendum, which outlines how we are complying with GDPR regulations.

We will safeguard all personal information. All employees with access to personal information are screened and trained. All computer systems utilize customary industry security standards such as secure socket layer (SSL) and are monitored by trained professionals. When you provide credit card information, we use SSL encryption to protect it. There are some things you can do to protect your information as well. For instance, never give out your password, since that is what is used to access all of your account information. Unfortunately, transmission of information over the Internet is never completely secure, and while we endeavor to follow industry best practices for security, we cannot guarantee that systems will never be compromised. Transmission of personal information to ACIS is therefore at your own risk, and ACIS will not be responsible in the event of circumvention of privacy settings or security measures contained on our website.

We will limit collection of personal information to what is required to participate on ACIS trips. This personal information includes: name, address, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, gender, passport number, emergency contact name and phone number and social security number (teachers and assistants). We will also collect credit card information when payments are made by credit card or bank routing numbers if you join our autopay plan. All credit card and bank account information is encrypted and our system is tested regularly for integrity.

We must have personal information to arrange ACIS trips. Anyone wishing to delete their personal information will necessarily cancel their participation on the ACIS trip and will be subject to the normal ACIS cancellation policies. Simply contact your group leader or ACIS to cancel your trip and delete your information.

Location data within the ACIS Travel App

If you choose to use the free ACIS Travel App while on tour, please note that the app collects location data to display the real-time risk alerts and personalized assistance notification features, even when the app is closed and not in use. This option can be changed later by going to the device settings.

A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, pass on computer viruses, or capture your email address or any other personally identifiable information. You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to reject all cookies. You can do this through your Internet browser settings. We will not sell, rent, share or otherwise reveal personal information to any third party except: 1) when necessary to make a travel arrangement or procure a service that is part of an ACIS trip; 2) when required by law (for example, pursuant to a subpoena, court order or in connection with any other governmental inquiry); 3) when an adult customer has agreed to the disclosure or in the case of a customer who is a minor, with the agreement of the customer’s legal guardian; 4) to protect or defend our legal rights or the legal rights or well-being of other users of our web site in furtherance of an investigation regarding a breach of our privacy policy or any unauthorized access to or use of our web site, or any illegal activities concerning a particular user; and 5) in connection with the sale, merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, reorganization or liquidation of ACIS. We do, however, reserve the right to share your information with one or more of our subsidiaries or affiliates, such as our parent company AIFS, that may be located in other states or foreign countries. By voluntarily submitting your information to the ACIS web site, you understand and consent to our transfer of such information to any of our subsidiaries or affiliates, regardless of their physical location, throughout the world. Our subsidiaries or affiliates shall treat your information pursuant to the terms set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Third Party Service Providers

Whenever we hire other organizations to provide support services we require them to conform to our privacy standards.

Children

We do not knowingly solicit data online from or market online to children under the age of 13, nor do we collect or disclose information about children except as noted above under “Disclosure of Information” generally. If you are under the age of 13, do not register with our website, and do not provide personal information about yourself to us or use any of the interactive or public comment features of our website. If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental or guardian consent, we will delete that information.

Parents and guardians providing personal information about their minor children to ACIS should review all of the personal information for accuracy. ACIS customers who are parents or guardians of minor children may contact ACIS at any time to review and make corrections to personal information about their children.
